Using RSS Feeds to Search for Jobs
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows you to recieve new content from web sites, rather than having to go out and look for it. When searching for jobs, it allows new job postings to come to you, rather than for you to have to check job posting sites daily.
To get started you will need to choose an RSS Feed Reader for your content. Examples of readers are Google Reader or iGoogle (good choice if you already have a Gmail account), My Yahoo (ditto a Yahoo account), mobile apps, or through your email account such as Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail.
Next you need content. Go to the job posting site and look for the RSS feed image and click on the icon (shown above). Not all sites offer a feed, so you may not be able to subscribe to some sites. You will be asked how you would like to receive the feed and this is where you will be asked to choose either email, Google Reader, mobile apps, etc.
For more information on RSS feeds click here.
