Lily Owens never would have thought where she would be living eventually–in a town called Tiburon, South Carolina at a house with three black bee-keeping sisters named May, June, and August. After her mom’s death, which seems to be her fault, Lily runs away from her harsh, cruel father. Although she is not alone, with her is her black nanny named Rosaleen who cared for her after her mother died, and even went to jail one day, but Lily saves her. Even though her mother died, Lily finds comfort with the new women in her life. This novel left me joyful and craving more.
