Or Give me Death by Ann Rinaldi

The Book “Or Give me Death” is about the family of Patrick Henry. His achievements outside the home are notoriously great, but within the house, everything has fallen apart. His wife, Sarah, has succumbed to madness and must be locked away in the cellar. Patrick himself is almost never home, leaving Patsy, the eldest of the children, in charge. This is a great book for those who love historical fiction, but also for those who don’t, because the book also deals with many family problems that are common even today, such as sibling rivalry, keeping secrets, and parents’ absences. This is a well-written, relatable, descriptive, and ultimately enjoyable story written on topics both historical and timeless.
