This summer, the Library’s summer program is “Build a Better World.” Our activities will tie into many aspects of the theme – actual building, community building, building up oneself, bettering the world, and more. While we plan and prep, community members can contribute to our Build a Better World theme in the following ways:
Supplies donations: The library is seeking donation of LEGOs and synthetic yarn for two of our summer activities. We only need the standard small size LEGOo bricks and yarn must be synthetic for environmental reasons. Please drop them off at the Reference desk on the second floor if you can donate.
Teen Volunteers needed: Teens ages 12-18 can volunteer at the library during the summer. Applicants must be 12 years old by June 1, 2017 and all must attend an orientation sessions in June; there will be one on June 8 at 6:00 pm and one on June 11 at 11:00 AM (register online). For more information, contact Liz Gotauco at 333-2552 x6 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Supporting a special cause: This year, child participants have the opportunity to “donate” an hour’s worth of reading points towards UNICEF with the intent of aiding the children of Syria. We wish to match the hours they donate with a monetary donation. If you are an individual, business, or group that would like to contribute funds, please contact Kim Usselman at 333-2552 x3 or email@example.com.
