A short video about how a steel drum is made, will be followed by a free Caribbean themed mini-concert and conclude with a question and answer session.
Jason Roseman, a native of the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is a second generation steel pan tuner, performer and educator. He started performing on steel pan drums at the age of eight and has traveled extensively, sharing this indigenous art form.
He teaches at the RI Philharmonic School and is a RISCA fellowship recipient who can be seen in the New England region performing solo or with his band, Tropical Gems.
