Pet Tales: A Family Program

“Pet Tales” family program “Cockapoo’s in the Library: Pet Safety and Training” The Children’s Room of the Cumberland Library invites families with children ages 3-12 to meet, participate in read-alouds and learn from certified Pet Assisted Therapy Teams . This series of “paws-on” learning programs showcases varied therapy teams (with live animals) focusing on pet education, animal care and animal services and resources in our community. Participants need to register individually for weekly workshops. “Pet Safety and Training with Cockapoos in the Library” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 from 6:00-6:45pm. This program will be lead by pet therapist Brenda Stone with her Cockapoo dogs Eliza and Higgins. This workshop will feature a “Meet and Greet” with Eliza and Higgins, read aloud stories, group discussion and demonstrations of dog training and fun activities. Registration for this program begins Oct 16, 2010 in the Children’s Room. Please bring your library card when registering. Preference will be given to children who reside in Cumberland. Please note: a live pet will be present during this program.
