Jan Shapin’s A Snug Life Somewhere will be the subject of this month’s book discussion.

Penny Joe Copper, daughter of a roustabout shingle weaver, is caught up in a 1916 union tragedy known as the Everett Massacre and then the Seattle General Strike of 1919. Here Penny deals with death, dispair and love.
