The Children’s Room is pleased to offer a Cook-a-Book program for children ages 4 to 8.  This program will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. and will feature the story Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish.  Amelia Bedelia is a well loved book character who takes directions and requests literally, creating comical situations.  It’s been a half-century since Amelia Bedelia first bumbled into the Rogers’ household and dusted the furniture with dusting powder, put the lights out on the clothesline, and dressed the chicken in overalls. In addition to hearing this story participants will enjoy a yummy snack and make a craft to take home. The Cook-a-Book program pairs stories and food in a way that dates back many centuries.
Register for Cook-a-Book in the Children’s Room beginning March 9, 2013.  Please bring your library card with you when registering.  Preference will be given to children who reside in Cumberland.  Donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of the materials.
