Infant Music Together class at The Cumberland Public Library

The Cumberland Public Library will host a Music Together demonstration class for parents/caregivers and their children, ages birth through 2 years, on
Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10:00 am.  Led by Jill Malin, director of the new Lincoln Woods Music Together program in Lincoln, the class will involve both children and parents in informal singing, chanting, moving, listening, and instrument playing activities.

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement curriculum for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them.   Originally offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.  The Music Together philosophy is based on the belief that all children are musical and the classes are designed to unite parents and children in open, cheerful musical exploration.  Music Together classes are now offered in more than 2,000 communities in over 25 countries around the world.

Jill Malin has an extensive background in music and singing and has been a Music Together teacher for 17 years.

This special event will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10am.
Registration begins Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Children’s Room.
