Still-life Painting with Watercolor or Acrylics

    This class will run for four Wednesdays: January 9, 16, 23 & 30, 2008
    9:15 – 11:15 a.m.
    Artist Germaine Gerie will teach students how to draw and paint from a still-life. Students have the choice of working with Watercolor or Acrylic paints. All aspects of painting will be demonstrated, including composition, color theory, depth and perspective as well as a variety of painting techniques that will help students achieve realistic results.The development of individual style is encouraged. All artistic levels are welcome to join. If you have never picked up a paintbrush before you will be amazed at the results!Germaine Gerie, a professional artist and a graduate in art education from SUNY at New Paltz, has been teaching privately since 1981. Germaine is an accomplished artist in a variety of media, including oils, acrylics, watercolor, ink and pastels. Her style ranges from very detailed renderings to pieces with the simplest line but greatest understanding of form and beauty.Advance in-person registration is required.
