Join us for a discussion of For All the Tea in China: How England Stole the World’s Favorite Drink and Changed History by Sarah Rose.

Through the adventures of Robert Fortune, a nineteenth-century plant hunter, the reader learns a delicious brew of information on the history of tea cultivation and consumption in the Western world. This is an ideal storytime for children, ages 3-6, whose parents work during the day. Children may wear their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animal.  Storytime is comprised of 30 minutes of thematic stories, fingerplays, and music.

This program will help participants better understand how to use formulas and create graphs and charts with Microsoft Excel.

This three year old storytime focuses on fun books, finger plays and songs. Parents are encouraged to remain in the Children’s Room during this “independent” storytime in the program room.

Many people spend millions of hours each year sitting on the job. This lecture will educate the audience on how they can prevent problems like neck and back pain and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by sitting correctly and setting up their workspaces properly. It will also give them exercises that they can do during their breaks that can increase performance and productivity.

Dr. Herbert Curtis, Jr. has a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree and a Masters degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic.

Children, ages 3-6, will creatively interact with theme based books, enjoy flannel board stories, songs, and experience online, read aloud “e-books”. Participants will learn about children’s “E-Books” websites and library database resources available at the library and at home!  Creative literacy-based activity centers will follow.
