Back by popular demand… Project CHICK! On Wednesday, March 22 from 4:00–5:00 pm, children of all ages are invited to join us for Project CHICK, Part One. A farm educator from Historic New England’s Casey Farm in Saunderstown will read a story and introduce children to a live hen. A display of various bird eggs – from hummingbird to ostrich will be available for viewing.
The Children’s Room will receive fertilized eggs and all the supplies necessary to incubate a clutch of eggs. Patrons can keep an eye on the incubator for 21 days until our chicks hatch.
The baby chicks will go back to Casey Farm on Friday, April 21 after our Project CHICK, Part Two program from 2:00-3:00 pm. If you are unable to make the first program on March 22, be sure to mark your calendar for Project CHICK Part Two or come to both. Join the fun, listen to a story and visit with our chicks one last time. This program features live animals.
Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning Monday, March 13, 2017 in the Children’s Room. Tickets are 50¢.
